Award Winning Olive Oil From Séka Hills in Capay Valley
Séka Hills Olive Mill and Tasting Room is an undiscovered destination in the Capay Valley, just a an hour and a half north of San Francisco and a half hour north west of Sacramento. The valley is in Yolo County, which is the home to several outstanding olive oil producers because of its unique growing conditions. Olive trees need mild winters, and are sensitive to frost, and they need long, hot and dry summers. That is exactly the kind of weather the region has, as well as rich fertile soil.
Séka Hills is owned by the Yocha Dehe Wintun Nation People. As some of the original inhabitants of the Capay Valley they take stewardship of the land very seriously. Staying connected to their ancestors by protecting and preserving the land for future generations is their focus. They have one of the most diverse agricultural operations in Yolo County. They began with planting grapes in 2004, and over the years planted olive trees and other crops, built a mill and opened a tasting room. They also have a tasting room in the Old Sugar Mill in Clarksburg.
At their tasting room in Brooks you can taste their wines and olive oils, as well are their other products. They also produce everything from honey, pickled asparagus, hummus, spiced nuts and beef jerky, all estate grown. The grounds are lovely, with outdoor seating surrounded by olive groves. They also have a deli with salads and sandwiches, and a gift shop with irresistible items such as tea towels silk screened with bees, and the latest cookbooks. They often have live music on the weekends and you can even take a tour of the mill. Visiting Yolo and the Capay Valley and Séka Hills tasting room is perfect for your next road trip.

The olives were harvested in 2019 and delivered immediately to their world class mill, ensuring freshness. It's peppery, with layers of green and ripe fruit. We love it drizzled on salads, along with Séka Hill Pomegranate Balsamic Vinegar. It won Gold at 2020's New York International Olive Oil Competition, one of the largest and most prestigious olive oil competitions in the world. To win a gold among nearly 1000 entrants from 26 different countries is impressive, and indicative of the quality in everything they do at Séka Hills.
